WebBasic RiderCourse The Basic RiderCourse is approximately 15 hours of classroom and on-cycle instruction conducted over a two day session. Emphases is on basic techniques as well as defensive maneuvers. It is designed for the beginner who wants to learn to ride a motorcycle and for the experienced rider who wants to sharpen their riding skills. WebThe Motorcycle/ATV Safety Unit offers Basic and Advanced motorcycle courses and an ATV course for DPS employees. Each course has a $30 enrollment fee and offers TCLEOSE credits. All courses are held at the DPS Tactical Training Center in Florence. Motorcycles, ATVs and riding gear are provided for basic motorcycle and ATV courses.
